Mrazorn

I just spotted this new blog header from one of my fave blog ever.

Cute right.
Mraz is my inspiration.
And looking at this header inspired me even more to be.. Myself.
Not that i am half unicorn. No no. But Mraz is always so brave to show many sides of him.
He is not afraid to be different.
He made his (ugly) drawing of himself into his album cover, when most people would just be embarrased n say that they couldnt draw.

Come visit his blog here:

Please Listen

I grew up as a kid with Chicken Soup for Teenage Soul as her bible.
I bought my first English copy of Chicken Soup for Teenage Soul 1 back in US. I love it so much that used to read it over n over, brought it wherever i go. Now some parts of the book has teared and some pages hv gone.
I loved to read it outloud n tried to memorize every line though i didnt know what they meant. I was in the 1st grade of junior high school, my vocab was very limited.

However, the memorizing part was a huge success. This is one of my favorite.

Please Listen

When I ask you to listen to me
and you start giving me advice,
you have not done what I asked.
When I ask you to listen to me
and you begin to tell me
why I shouldn't feel that way,
you are trampling on my feelings.
When I ask you to listen to me
and you feel you have to do
something to solve my problem,
you have failed me,
strange as that may seem.

Listen!
All I ask is that you listen.
Don't talk or do - just hear me.
Advice is cheap;
20 cents will get you both Dear Abby and Billy Graham in the same newspaper,
and I can do for myself; I am not helpless.
Maybe discouraged and faltering,
but not helpless.
When you do something for me that I can and need to do for myself, you contribute to my fear and inadequacy.

Buy when you accept as a simple fact that I feel what I feel, no matter how irrational, then I can stop trying to convince you and get about this business of understanding what's behind this irrational feeling.
And when that's clear, the answers are obvious and I don't need advice.
Irrational feelings make sense when we understand what's behind them.
Perhaps that's why prayer works, sometimes, for some people - because God is mute, and he doesn't give advice or try to fix things.
God just listens and lets you work it out for yourself. So please listen, and just hear me. And if you want to
talk, wait a minute for your turn - and I will listen to you.

I really really love this poem.
I believe that most of us sometimes just need to be listened for a while. But mostly, what we get is a series of advices, which actually we didnt ask. But i think it comes naturally.

When in college, there is this one theory which is called Narrative Paradigm by Walter Fisher that asserts that people are essentially storytelling animals and our reason is best appealed to through stories. Or to be shorted "humans are storyteller". We create we and our lives through the storries we tell.

See, so we know that people love to talk and be listened, and not to listen.

Last saturday i met one of my close friend. I just found out recently that she is moving to Singapore soon. I know Singapore is just half an hour away, but still it sadenned me.
Eliz is such a good listener. She just listen n not judging. Well i dont know if she is mocking me in the inside. Haha.. Just kidding.

So that is why i writw this post. Cos i think the poem above reflects how i feel, cause she always listens.

Thanx yah Eliz.
This is our picture, taken last Saturday at Bamboo ;)

Im gonna miss ya. Hoho

Ain

Away We Go

I hv been away for so long from my lovely blog.
Life has been so packed, ive been running on a track. I dont know which track cause it seems like time keeps on chasing me, and im running, but im going nowhere.

Now i'm back. Just purchased Blogpress from Appstore. The last post was a test. Teehee.

Tiba2 aja saya keinget kata2 si engko penjual mesin jahit di Pangeran Jayakarta, sewaktu dia ngebantah ucapan guru bunka saya, kl pake mesin jahit tu ga usa yg ribet2 n komputerisasi gt. Beli yg simple aja. Gini kata si engko, "E, gw kasi tau lu ya. Jaman uda maju, semua pake komputer. Coba, gw suru lu buat bunga pake mesin jait jaman dulu, lu bingung kan. Nah coba kl pake yg model ini ni (sambil nunjuk si mesin jahit canggih), lu tinggal pencet aja. Lu mau apa tinggal lu pencet. Biar mesin (yg uda pk otak komputer) yang mikir buat lu. Jangan lu yang mikir buat mesin. Kelamaan."

Wow! Saya setuju banget sama si engko. Kita pk teknologi untuk mempermudah, bukan mempersulit.
And that is exactly what i get from thia lovely iphone of mine. It is so clever, it can Does think i dont even know how.
And it ease my life too! In case i need anything, just go to appstore, search, install.
Ah.. Life is good.

So i guess, from now on, i'll b around.
Nothing to promise though.

Love,
Ain

Lime Beach

Yay!
I went to Ancol Beach today. It's been quite a while since the last time I went there. I used to go there everyday with my family for morning jogging or just to get some fresh air.
Well anyway, I spotted some interesting things today.

a beautiful white flower

A man swimming upside down. Daddy said this man is trying to catch some fish.

Food court (it's new, right?)

A new cafe is on progress. It's on the bridge. I'm not dk happy about it. Ancol keeps on developing new buildings n cafes inside. It gives less space for people who want to come for exercise, jogging, enjoying the view n breathing some fresh air.

This is new. I've never seen this before, "beach pool".

They hv no bus but they hv the shelter.

I had Fun today!
How bout u?

Indomie Soto

Indomie soto skrg berubah menjadi soto spesial. They were rebranding the packaging lately.

This soto speciAl got koya inside.

According to my tasting sense, the taste of the soto itself is just the same. Not even a slight different. But adding the koya makes it become a whole new experience ;). The koya makes the soup a bit thicker.

Yum yum

Grazia Day

Last Thursday, I went to Grazia Day at Poste. My friend won a tweet quiz from Grazia magazine. The quiz was only to send a picture of u n ur bestfriend. There were 3 winners, n 1 winner could bring 4 other friends.

Grazia is a new magazine. It's a licensed mag based on Itali I think. Its first issue was on November. So to get closer to its readers, Grazia planned to hold an event like this once a month. It was like a small party. Only the winners (3x5) and Grazia crew.

Gricia, the fashion blogger, who is also the marketing of Grizia, is the one who sent us the email confirmation. You can alse check out her post about the event here, http://missgricia.blogspot.com/2010/02/grazia-day-at-poste-250210.html.
Sorry I can't hyperlink it cause I'm on posting via comp.
Anyway, here are some pictures if me n friends at Poste. I took some pics from Grizia blog too. Hihi. Thx dear.
